  1. A:  I thought all along that the most basic problem 
  2. is implied in his most famous aphorism. It is: people 
  3. do not appreciate having attention drawn to the 
  4. medium of their own ability to communicate. You 
  5. can‚Äôt draw attention to the way in which people 
  6. assume that they have a basis for their knowledge. 
  7. He was always twitting people and saying, ‚ÄúWell, 
  8. you only believe that because, you know, such and 
  9. such prevails as a bias in the way you‚Äôre doing 
  10. something.‚Äù Nobody appreciated that at all. So he 
  11. was constantly pulling hidden ground into the 
  12. foreground, and people who were making their 
  13. livelihood by being focused on a specific figure, 
  14. they simply couldn‚Äôt handle that.
